  3.           ADJUSTING THE SETTINGS (DEFAULTS)

  5.                PC-Style  was  designed to be easy to use and  easy  to
  6.           modify.   You can change the program's defaults any time you
  7.           want  -  as often as you like.   The ranges for  the  scales
  8.           PC-Style uses are controlled in a file called   PCSTYLE.PRO.
  9.           Using  your  word processor (only in ASCII format)  you  can
  10.           modify  this  file to  new settings.   Here's a look at part
  11.           of the file:
  12.                        7,17   words per sentence (minimum and maximum)
  13.                        2,14   % long words (minimum and maximum)
  14.                        0,9    % personal words (minimum and maximum)
  15.                        0,2.5  % action words (minimum and maximum)
  16.                        1,2.5  syllables per word (minimum and maximum)
  17.                        6,18   readability (minimum and maximum)

  19.                PC-Style  uses the numbers for the scales.   Any change
  20.           you make will then be used each time the program runs.   You
  21.           don't  need to worry about how you enter the numbers on each
  22.           line, either.  PC-Style will put them in correct order.
